AGE OF EMPIRE 2 The Conqueror
Elite Cannon Galleon
When facing to ocean terrain, this is my favourite ship. Usualy I create about 5 to 10 cannon galleons together with galleons and fast fire ships at the same number, in order to protect cannon galleon, and then go to attack shore area of enemy. Attack other empire by bombarding using cannon galleon is great! Almost success. Galleon stand by to attack every enemies ship that coming, fast fire stand by to attack every enemies ship missed by galleon, and elite cannon galleon stand at offshore bombarding the enemies building safely. Ha...ha...ha...

As you may expect, this is not cheap stuff. Build a elite cannon galleon will cost 200 wood and 150 gold. So usualy I also create galleon and fast fire ship to protect elite cannon galleon. But the satisfaction you'll earn is great! You can make your enemy drop into messy. Last time I played as Sarachen and fight against Byzantium, so many Byzantium's war elephant death, can't do anything but groaning. I destroy all tower and building near sea, every time archer team or mangonel* try to fire to my ship parade, galleon shot them with fire arrow! So great!
You need reaearch in chemistry before you can create galleon with cannon.

A galleon was a large, multi-decked sailing ship used primarily by the nations of Europe from the 16th to 18th centuries. Whether used for war or commerce, they were generally armed with demi-culverin. (ref.: wiki). The galleon evolved from the earlier caravel type, (caravels were the ship type used by Columbus in his momentous 1492 voyage). The galleon was used by the Spanish from the 15th through the 17th centuries. These ships linked Spain and its far flung colonies in America and Asia. (ref.: villavistahermosa.com).

Halberdier
This is my favourite warrior. Cheap and useful warrior. Halberdier is stronger than Pikeman, also effective to fight against mounted units and war elephants. Halberdier is created in Barracks. I likes to create 15 halberdiers at once time, collect them (at about 20 to 30), and go attact the enemies in great battle! It's fun!
A halberd (also called halbert or Swiss voulge) is a two-handed pole weapon that came to prominent use during the 14th and 15th centuries. Possibly the word halberd comes from the German words Halm (staff), and Barte (axe). The halberd consists of an axe blade topped with a spike mounted on a long shaft. It always has a hook or thorn on the back side of the axe blade for grappling mounted combatants. It is very similar to certain forms of the voulge in design and usage. (ref.:wikipedia)

[figure 2 Halberdiers from a modern day reenactor troupe]
The Halberd was a pike weapon invented in the Middle Ages for use against armored men, especially on horseback. It cosisted of a six-foot shaft with an axe head at the front, a spear point at the top, and thin point at the rear. The spear was used to ward off cavalry. The thin rear point could be chopped down on an armored man to penetrate the strongest armor. The axis head brought down with both hands could chop through armor, arms, and helmets. Wielding the Halberd left the soldier exposed momentarily, so it was best in formation with other men at hand for protection.
However, this unit is weak to infantry, archers, scorpions, mangonels, hand cannoners.
